What Happened

As some of you may know, I author a motorcycle blog entitled Thunder Road Motorcycle Lodge. I note this only because for simplicity and speed, I'm going to link you to my post for today, Rider Down!!, which details the accident to the best of my recollection.

  1. God bless you Tim. As people read about what happened, they all say that the medical tech being on the scene was an angel put there by God to help him. I too believe that. However, I believe you were the first angel on the scene. My sisters and I have talked about this and we all agree...that Phil was doing what he loves and that is riding his Harley in the beautiful East Texas countryside with you, his dear friend. He loves riding with you leading the way, always telling me that you find the "best damn roads ever" and he really enjoys it. Please do not carry any burden on your shoulders or in your heart... this was not your fault. It was an accident and in Phil's own words ..."It is what it is." His body will heal and he will be ready to get back in the saddle and ride again someday and I hope you lead the way.

  2. Tim,
I can't help but wonder if Phil was having chest pains while he was on his bike and that is what happened??? I agree with Rhonda... You can't carry this burden and Phil wouldn't want you to.

  3. Lisa, thank you for the kind words.

I was able to revisit the crash site the other day and believe I now have a better understanding of what happened. With all that we know now, it is pretty obvious that God simply reached down and bitch-slapped Phil so that he'd be in the hospital when the heart attack occured.

  4. Tim, I think God has done that more than once with Phil.... It couldn't have anything to do with his stubbornness, could it??? You are right, though... God is amazing in how he works things. Even though it doesn't always seem the easiest path, God knows what he is doing and Phil ended up getting the care he needed for his heart attack (and pronto I must say). God has to get the Glory for that!
